Orthodontic Tooth Exposure

Sometimes teeth fail to erupt through the gums and can become impacted. This can involve any tooth in the mouth but is most common with canines and premolars. One of the treatment options your dentist or orthodontist may decide on is to expose and move the tooth into the right position in the jaw.  Through a minor surgical procedure, the impacted tooth will be exposed to remove any overlying gum and/ore bone  to provided access for the orthodontist to reposition the tooth within the arch.
